Nestled deep in the mountains of the northwest lies Hemu Township, hailed by "China National Geography Magazine" as one of China’s most beautiful villages. In the early morning, the village emerges faintly through the mist, presenting a fairy-tale-like scene amid green trees and lush mountains. The natural way of life of the local Kazakh and Tuwa peoples adds a rich cultural vibrancy to this dreamlike village.

In 2005, "China National Geography Magazine" selected China’s most beautiful villages, and Hemu Township was on the list. Since then, more and more people have begun to notice this place. Hemu Township offers different scenic wonders throughout the year. In summer, flowers bloom abundantly—poppies, peonies, and lilies can often be seen in vibrant display. Livestock can also be spotted grazing leisurely by streams on the grasslands, filling the land with vitality. The best time to visit, however, is in late September when autumn arrives. The birch forests surrounding the village turn golden, complemented by the mist, emerald-green mountains, and wisps of smoke rising from traditional wooden houses—creating a subtly magnificent and beautiful scene.
