A total of 2,291 cases have been reported so far, including 41 confirmed cases (Case 41 newly added on March 2), 2,068 ruled out, with the rest under quarantine and testing (119 initially tested negative, others pending). Among the confirmed cases, 1 has died, 12 have been released from quarantine, and the remaining cases continue to be hospitalized in isolation, with stable conditions.

Case 41 is a family member accompanying the 34-year-old patient. Regarding the cluster related to Case 27, 820 contacts have been identified, with 183 tested—5 positive (Cases 28 to 32), 176 negative, and the rest pending.
Health conditions and test results of contacts for Cases 33, 39, and 40 (imported cases) continue to be monitored. As of now, no new confirmed cases have emerged. The 19 Taiwanese nationals repatriated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship have no transferred cases and are under close observation in centralized quarantine facilities.
An 11-member “Israeli tour group” organized by a domestic travel agency departed for Israel on February 28. Due to a confirmed COVID-19 (Wuhan pneumonia) case among Israeli passengers on the same flight, the 11 tourists were asked by Israeli authorities to leave the country on the same evening’s flight bound for Turkey and are expected to return to Taiwan around 5 PM on the 2nd. According to our country’s regulations, all 11 members of the group are classified as “contacts of confirmed cases” and must undergo 14 days of home quarantine.
To date, across all 31 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in mainland China (excluding the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau), a cumulative total of 80,026 cases have been confirmed, with 202 new cases reported compared to the previous day. Among them, 7,110 are in severe condition and 2,912 have died.
As of March 1, there have been 8,233 confirmed cases internationally, spread across 65 countries/regions. The highest numbers are in South Korea (3,736 cases), Italy (1,577 cases), Iran (978 cases), Japan’s Diamond Princess cruise ship (687 cases, including 5 Japanese nationals), and Japan (253 cases). There have been 126 deaths, including 54 in Iran, 34 in Italy, 18 in South Korea, 6 on the Diamond Princess, 6 in Japan, 2 in Hong Kong, 2 in France, 1 in Australia, 1 in the Philippines, 1 in Thailand, and 1 in the United States.
