New Landmark: A Dreamy Starry Sky Prairie Made from Y Million PET Bottles

Inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting “Starry Night,” Keelung’s Yongheng Cultural and Creative Park recycled 4 million PET bottles to create a large-scale land art installation, which officially lit up for a trial operation on the 26th. The 13,000-ping Starry Sky Prairie offers breathtaking day and night views that evoke different visual emotions.

Yongheng Cultural and Creative Park specially invited Professor Wang Zhenwei from National Changhua University of Education to collaborate on the project. They collected 4 million PET bottles from all over Taiwan for reuse, using a 13,000-ping grass field as a canvas. By combining environmental protection with artistic concepts, they recreated Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” within the park. The beautiful Starry Sky Prairie looks colorful during the day against the green grass, and at night, LED lights are added to present a starry beauty completely different from the daytime. The Starry Sky Prairie was lit up for a trial run on the 26th and will officially open in January. This Starry Sky Prairie will also challenge the Guinness World Records to become a new landmark of Keelung.
