Taichung’s Ultra-Luxurious Motel Offers a Garden in Every Room to Take You Around the World

Taiwanese motels are pulling out all the stops, and their fresh, fun accommodation experiences have become alternative attractions. In Taichung City, a boutique motel resembling a European castle—“Ballet Classic Motel”—has created a buzz with its “one room, one garden” oversized themed spaces. Trial operations have begun as of now, with an official opening scheduled for February 1.

Taichung has a particularly high density of motels, making competition fierce. Every establishment is pulling out all the stops, competing not just on grandeur or luxury but also on creativity. “Ballet Classic Motel” adopts a green, oxygen-rich theme and incorporates hundreds of plant species, including native Taiwan flora and century-old Japanese pines, which stand out even more against the castle-like architecture. To offer guests diverse lodging options, the motel has a total of 55 rooms, including 22 business rooms and 33 garage-equipped car rooms. The most distinctive feature is that every car room is designed around a famous attraction from a different country, aiming to make each stay feel like visiting a new destination.
