Located near Guting Station in Taipei’s Zhongzheng District, surrounded by schools, office buildings, and close to the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, this area is packed with hidden culinary treasures. This chicken rice spot tucked under a covered walkway is one of the local favorites—if you just walk by, you’d totally miss it. Yong Bo’s Delicious Chicken is located under the covered walkway on Nanchang Road. To get there, take Exit 2 of Guting MRT Station, turn left, then left again. There’s basically no sign—once you’re under the walkway, you’ll see it. It looks like a small eatery set up in what was once a regular living room.

Yong Bo’s Delicious Chicken lives up to its name—the chicken here is truly tasty. The menu offers three choices: chicken leg, regular chicken slices, or shredded chicken. You can get it as a set meal or à la carte. The side dishes in the meal box depend on what the boss has prepared that day. He’s laid-back and casual, but when it comes to the chicken, he doesn’t cut any corners.

The editor ordered the chicken leg meal box. A whole chicken leg is chopped into about eight pieces, drizzled with sauce, and served with steamed egg, spinach, and braised cabbage. It may look simple, but the flavors are spot on. Take a bite of chicken, then a spoonful of rice—pure, hearty deliciousness.

Their shredded chicken rice doesn’t just come with generous portions—it’s also topped with chicken oil. The oily sheen adds richness and flavor that makes you keep digging in. Paired with some side dishes, it’s no wonder so many people love it.
