During the Japanese colonial period, the Pingtung Cultural Landscape Park served as an important receiving station for wireless communication between Taiwan and the international community. After being abandoned, the Taoyuan City Urban Development Bureau preserved the park's natural features and woodland, transforming it into today’s Pingtung Cultural Landscape Park—a forested oasis reborn in Taoyuan.
