The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced on the 26th the 32nd confirmed case of COVID-19 (Wuhan pneumonia) in Taiwan, a woman in her 30s who was a foreign caregiver for Case 27 during their hospitalization from February 11 to 16. Health authorities, after confirming Case 27, sought assistance from police to locate this individual, who was found on the evening of February 24, sent to the hospital for testing and notification, and hospitalized in isolation. The case had mild throat discomfort at the time, and tested positive on the 26th.

The CECC noted that as Case 32 was a temporary caregiver, health authorities have investigated their activity history from February 16 to 24 and designated other patients cared for by the individual during that period, as well as fellow inpatients and caregivers, as contacts for testing. Regarding the cluster of cases linked to Case 27, a total of 744 contacts have been identified so far, with 153 tested—five positive (Cases 28 to 32), 141 negative, and the rest still under testing.
Meanwhile, Iran has seen a rapid rise in COVID-19 (Wuhan pneumonia) cases and deaths recently, with the number of confirmed cases now reaching 95 and 15 deaths. Cases have spread across 13 provinces, and the death toll is second only to mainland China. The country has also exported cases to multiple nations including Oman, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada. With borders to Iran closed by several Middle Eastern countries and the outbreak clearly expanding, the CECC has raised the travel advisory level for Iran to Level 2: Alert, advising the public to take enhanced protective measures when traveling there.
The CECC stated that in response to the international development of the Wuhan pneumonia outbreak, it has currently designated mainland China (including Hong Kong and Macau) and South Korea as Level 3 warning zones for travel advisories; Japan, Singapore, Italy, and Iran as Level 2 alert zones; and Thailand as a Level 1 watch zone. The CECC will closely monitor changes in the epidemic and adjust the scope of affected regions and travel recommendations at any time.
