It strongly promotes the “Accommodation Passport” discount campaign, offering attractive deals such as 35% off room rates and student check-ins for just NT$500, calling on everyone to support legal accommodations.

Public safety incidents caused by short-term rental suites continue to emerge. To safeguard the safety of travelers' accommodation, this year’s “Anti-Short-Term-Rental Annual Awards – Her Light Travel Accommodation” strongly promotes two campaigns: the “Accommodation Passport” and the “Safety Monopoly Game,” combining online discounts with offline consumption. Accommodation businesses across Taiwan have responded enthusiastically, with a total of 418 operators joining the anti-short-term-rental campaign, including 128 star-rated hotels such as The Regent Taipei, Sheraton Hsinchu Hotel, Evergreen Laurel Hotel Taichung, Tai Yih Hotel, and Grand Formosa Regent Taipei; as well as 66 popular homestays such as Fengchunyuan Vacation Villas, Toyota Daikichi Homestay, Oweis Mountain Villa, and Migratory Birds Intertidal Zone, all offering exceptional value stays that showcase the high quality and great value of legal accommodations.
The “Accommodation Passport” discount campaign runs from now until October 31. Visit the “Accommodation Passport” campaign webpage to view a variety of appealing accommodation options. After selecting your stay, visit the accommodation counter to scan the QR code and share a post on Facebook to redeem your accommodation discount. The offers provided by the 418 participating businesses are diverse, catering to the needs of different groups, allowing everyone to enjoy the fun of domestic travel accommodations.

To help tourists better understand the concept of safe accommodations, the Tourism Bureau has also launched the “Safety Monopoly Game” online event. In addition to incorporating classic Monopoly elements like Chance and Community Chest, it features carefully designed safety principles upheld by women of different eras, including “Spend wisely—choose high-value accommodations,” “Spending should be for enjoyment, not suffering,” and “The most beautiful scenery in a trip is the sense of safety you give me.” From now until September 15, simply log in with your Facebook account online to get 10 game plays per day, with chances to win prizes such as an iPad Air2, cash rewards of NT$10,000, a Panasonic GF7 camera, and free accommodation vouchers.
The Tourism Bureau once again urges the public that to ensure safe and comfortable travel, always choose legal accommodations when going on trips and avoid staying in short-term rental suites.
