As the COVID-19 situation in Japan worsens, various events have been postponed, suspended, or scaled down, while tourist attractions are also facing temporary closures.

SANRIO Puroland announced it will be closed from February 22 to March 12. Tokyo Disneyland and Universal Studios Japan have not yet announced closures, but staff are required to wear masks while on duty.
In addition to cases across mainland Japan and Hokkaido—including even children under ten—Fukuoka in Kyushu has also reported one confirmed case.
Aside from Fukuoka, Kumamoto has reported three confirmed cases, leading to the cancellation or postponement of major upcoming events in the city, as well as the suspension of Kumamon’s daily performances.
With three confirmed cases in Okinawa as well, COVID-19 outbreaks are being reported across Japan. Coupled with criticism over lax quarantine measures for passengers disembarking from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, Japan’s epidemic control situation is raising concerns. The total number of confirmed cases in Japan had reached 110 as of February 22.
