Top 10 Airports in the World – Two in Japan Make the List

In the latest rankings released by the renowned UK-based aviation service survey organization SKYTRAX, Singapore Changi Airport has retained its top spot for the first place. Japan’s Tokyo Haneda Airport and Nagoya Chubu Centrair International Airport also made the list. Other Asian airports on the list include Hong Kong and South Korea’s Incheon Airport, while European entries come from Germany, the UK, and Switzerland. Notably, three German airports secured spots—ranking fourth, sixth, and tenth respectively.

Singapore Changi Airport has claimed the top spot for five consecutive years and has appeared in the rankings for eight years in a row. Its internal facilities and services are top-notch, resembling a mini vacation resort and shopping mall. It’s so appealing that you could easily treat it as a tourist attraction in itself. Facilities inside include a cinema, spa, shopping center, and even a rooftop observation pool. The addition of the brand-new Terminal 4 has further improved flight operations. The top spot for the best airport hotel also went to the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Changi.

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport was ranked third globally among airports handling 30–40 million passengers in 2016, and 17th in the Top 100 Airports list that same year. In 2017, it failed to break into the top ten but came in 21st, although it did secure first place in the staff service category.
