Due to the influence of a continental cold air mass, from the evening of the 17th to the early hours of the 18th, the temperature at Taiping Mountain (elevation 2,000 meters) remained at -2°C, resulting in frost and rime on tree branches at the entrance of the Jianqing Huaihu Trail, near Taiping Villa, and along the Taiwan Beech Trail—creating a scene straight out of Frozen.

Among them, the Taiwan Beech Trail endpoint even saw light snowfall in the early morning, with its enchanting white landscape drawing people in, as if entering a dreamlike silver-white forest world. Although the mountain roads within Taiping Mountain were not icy, the recreation area opened at 6 a.m. without restrictions—but the frost and rime-covered branches were truly mesmerizing.

Taiping Mountain in Yilan is a well-known national forest recreation area in northern Taiwan. In recent years, it has developed a network of mountain eco-tourism through its natural trails and the Pingping Train. When a cold snap hits, the white snow decorates the green woods, creating the illusion of being in the snowy silver-white world of the animated movie Frozen.
