Bear Blessing and Taipei City Councilor Jiang Hongjie endorse behind-the-scenes insights: The Taipei Universiade documentary promotes city tourism

Premier Lai Ching-te praised the Universiade for uniting the emotions and attention of the Taiwanese people and humorously complimented Mayor Ko Wen-je for his foresight in deciding to produce the documentary despite initial skepticism. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je stated that this was a great shared experience for all of Taiwan and Taipei, and even now, seeing footage of the sporting events remains deeply moving.

During the Universiade, the Taipei City Department of Information and Tourism promoted the concept of revitalizing old-city tourism through the documentary, boosting the area’s appeal. Now, with "Inside Taiwan: 2017 Taipei Universiade," they fully document the Athletes’ Village, opening and closing ceremonies, training zones, key competition moments, award ceremonies, rehearsals, and other unforgettable highlights.

The film also includes intimate coverage of interactions between athletes, coaches, and their families, such as the home life of Jiang Hongjie and Ai Fukuhara, and how Chen Chin-feng’s swing could ignite the Olympic flame—key moments fans were eager to see.

The film also showcases Taipei’s diverse transformation, including its historic old town, cultural vibrancy, and the friendliness of its residents—painting a dynamic image of the city. Following the success of "Inside Taiwan: Revitalization of Taipei’s Old Town," which won a Special Jury Prize at the 2017 Houston International Film Festival, this new touching documentary highlights Taipei and Taiwan’s warmth, enthusiasm, and charm.
