Starbucks’ Largest Global New Store Opens with 3D Printing and AR Scenarios from Taiwan, Ultra-Futuristic

After Starbucks reclaimed the operating rights of its Shanghai stores and switched to full direct investment, Asia’s first experiential store “Starbucks Reserve® Shanghai Roastery” has officially opened in Shanghai. It boasts grandeur, luxury, and “VR,” and is the world’s second Reserve Roastery following the first “Seattle Reserve Roastery” in 2014. It also features the world’s first Teavana tea bar made from 3D-printed recyclable materials.

Starbucks Shanghai Roastery is not only currently the largest Starbucks store globally, spanning 843 ping (approximately half the size of a football field), but also the world’s largest immersive coffee experience store. As you enter the store, the first thing you see is a giant copper barrel about two stories high and weighing 40 tons, decorated with over 1,000 traditional Chinese seals and seal-carving patterns, hand-engraved with the story of Starbucks and coffee.
