Gelato Pique Café enters Taichung, collaborates with Tsujiri to launch matcha-flavored crepes

The highly popular Japanese homewear brand “Gelato Pique” has brought its dreamy tea café, Gelato Pique Café, to Taichung’s Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Zhonggang Store this year, following the enthusiastic response to its Taipei store opening last year. It has also unveiled an all-new menu that’s sure to impress.

One of the most anticipated offerings is the collaboration with Tsujiri, a century-old Japanese matcha specialist, to launch three exclusive matcha-themed treats. Combining Tsujiri’s carefully selected high-grade Uji matcha from Kyoto with Gelato Pique Café’s fluffy and tender French-style crepes, these creations deliver a rich yet not overly sweet flavor.

In addition, the new menu includes the beloved “French strawberry jam crepe” favored by girls, blending two types of strawberry jam and featuring soft strawberry flesh for a sweet and tangy taste that pleases even the pickiest palates. The must-have pistachio of the Lunar New Year also takes center stage on the new menu—the “Pistachio Crepe” uses 100% French pistachio jam with a unique recipe, delivering nutty aroma and actual pistachio bits in every bite. With its layered, delicate textures, each mouthful is full of surprises. The ever-popular “Rich Cheese Crepe” combines three types of cheese—Mascarpone, Cheddar, and Parmesan—to create an unforgettable rich aroma, making it a must-try delicacy for cheese lovers.
