The charm of matcha has swept across Taiwan in recent years, and the most popular is the century-old matcha brand “Narisawa Chaen” from Uji, Kyoto, Japan. This traditional tea shop is embracing innovation by collaborating with RT-Mart, known for its trending collaborative desserts, to launch a series of matcha-themed treats.

In 2017, Narisawa Chaen collaborated with FamilyMart’s Coolish and Kikkoman’s sweet dumplings, creating a buying frenzy and sparking an Instagram trend that brought impressive results for both brands.

In 2018, the collaboration reached new heights as they partnered with RT-Mart, Taiwan’s leading supermarket chain, to develop 11 matcha desserts filled with the essence of spring tea. These treats are expected to be highly sought after by matcha enthusiasts and dessert lovers, with 9 of them officially hitting shelves on April 13.

All collaborative products use Narisawa matcha powder, adhering to traditional production methods by grinding tencha leaves into fine, high-quality powder that emits a richer aroma. Unlike regular green tea, when paired with various desserts, it offers a uniquely light, fresh, and elegant flavor with a distinctive texture.
