A Taiwanese girl, Huang Xiaomei, recently launched a Japanese-language creative video titled "Let's Meet in Taiwan" online. The video introduces multiple scenic spots and local delicacies across Taiwan, paired with upbeat music and playful dance moves. Within just five days of going live, it racked up 110,000 views and nearly 2,600 shares. Moreover, the entire production cost only NT$100, and the Facebook post alone sparked an enormous response, with netizens praising, “She could be a tourism ambassador.”

Huang Xiaomei studied in Japan for half a year and often entertains Japanese friends who visit Taiwan. After several such experiences, she noticed that her Japanese friends tended to ask similar questions. So, she wrote a song covering Taiwan’s attractions, street food, and travel tips. When introducing Taiwan, she vividly described the island as being “shaped like a sweet potato.”

The video content includes not only Taiwan’s tallest building — Taipei 101, the stunning coastal scenery of the East Coast, Jiufen which is reminiscent of "Spirited Away," and the historic city of Tainan, but also incorporates everyday local life such as KTV and night markets.

When it comes to food, the introduction naturally features xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), stinky tofu, and mango shaved ice. Cilantro, a common ingredient in Taiwanese snacks, is also mentioned in the video, reminding Japanese viewers to pay extra attention when ordering.

Additionally, a line in the video — “Traffic lights are just a guide; you still need to be careful and watch out for cars and scooters” — has been widely hailed by netizens as classic.
