Unauthorized Ippudo Ramen outlet sparks outrage among netizens—officials may consider setting up a franchise in the future

After being shared via the Facebook page “Fengjia Crazy Night Market” on August 29, the news spread, surprising and puzzling many consumers—especially since the store’s sign advertised “noodle-cooking service,” which is not offered by authentic Ippudo.

The official response clarified that this is not an authorized store and is not the real Ippudo Ramen. Taichung is also among the cities actively being considered for future expansion. Since this fake Ippudo Ramen operates without official authorization, many netizens exclaimed, “It’s embarrassing for Taiwan.” The shop has since closed its doors and ceased operations. Currently, Ippudo Ramen has only two locations in Taiwan, both in Taipei’s Xinyi District—one is a standalone store, and the other is inside Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A11.
