When autumn winds blow, it’s the perfect season for kite flying. The originally scheduled “2018 New Taipei City North Coast International Kite Festival” was postponed to September 30 (Sunday) at Shimen District’s Bai Sha Wan in New Taipei City due to Typhoon Trami, out of consideration for public safety.

The sky is filled with a variety of uniquely shaped kites, soft kites, and stunt kites.
This year marks the 19th edition of the New Taipei City North Coast International Kite Festival. Led by the Asian International Kite Federation, teams from Germany, the United States, Japan, Thailand, India, Macau, Shanghai, Wuhan, along with top domestic kite flyers, have gathered with over 20 teams and nearly 100 kite enthusiasts from both home and abroad to exchange skills and culture.
The North Coast International Kite Festival attracts numerous domestic and international visitors every year.
A wide array of uniquely shaped kites, soft kites, stunt kites, and other thousand-strong kites take to the skies, transforming the North Coast into a colorful and bustling kite party, including adorable and creative cartoon-themed kites.
There are also super cute autumn treats, such as a giant kite shaped like a New Taipei City Wanli crab.
Additionally, the momo family’s Yoghurt Sister and cartoon star Liang Liang were invited to join in the fun, making it a great outing for families with children.
The uniquely designed kites and adorable cartoon-themed kites are perfect for bringing kids outdoors for some kite-flying fun.
