Taiwan’s high-end steak market is becoming increasingly competitive, and now the prestigious American steakhouse Smith&Wollensky has officially entered the fray. This restaurant is a favorite among many well-known celebrities and athletes, and even Miranda from “The Devil Wears Prada” specifically requests this brand. The first overseas branch of Smith & Wollensky was established in London, and now it is making its first foray into the Asian market by coming to Taiwan. It is set to open at Breeze Nan Shan in December.

Founded in 1977, Smith & Wollensky is widely recognized for its classic white-and-green color scheme, authentic New York-style ambiance, attentive and professional service, and a celebrity-filled clientele. Since its inception, the restaurant has been committed to delivering unparalleled dining experiences and the finest USDA Prime steaks: tender and flavorful dry-aged cuts, hand-cut fresh daily.

In addition to classic steak dishes, the restaurant will also introduce new creations that incorporate Taiwanese flavors.

The headquarters of Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group is located in Boston, and the group owns and operates seven flagship Smith & Wollensky restaurants across the United States: in Miami Beach, Chicago, Columbus (Ohio), Houston, and three in Boston. Its first international location outside the U.S. is in London.

To ensure the quality of its aged steaks, the brand plans to set up a dedicated aging room in Taipei.

For 40 years since its founding, Smith & Wollensky has emphasized the Farm to Table philosophy, insisting on using top-grade USDA Prime beef hand-slaughtered by contracted farms.

The restaurant also offers a seafood cold platter tower.

This grade of beef accounts for only 2.9% of all beef produced in the United States. Through Smith & Wollensky’s exclusive dry-aging process, the beef is concentrated over four weeks, and high-heat cooking brings out the seductive aroma of the marbling, offering a rich, original flavor in every bite.

Over the past 40 years since its establishment, Smith & Wollensky has won the hearts of many successful individuals with its high-quality service and exceptional cuisine.
