Spanning the Zhuokou River in Maolin District and connecting the two mountain ridges between Meiya Valley and Dorna, the Dorna High Suspension Bridge stretches 232 meters in length and stands 103 meters high. Since the Japanese colonial period, this bridge has served as a vital passageway for the Rukai people. Like a long rainbow floating among the mountain clouds, the elegant lines of the high suspension bridge are adorned at the entrance with vibrant, solid-colored Rukai tribal totems such as diamonds, lilies, and hundred-pace vipers, making it particularly striking and beautiful against the backdrop of green mountains and clear waters.

Located in the swampy area west of the Benlu Mountain in the Central Mountain Range, at an elevation of about 450 meters, Dorna Tribe is the deepest village in Maolin District and one of the oldest indigenous settlements in Taiwan. Dorna is perfect for a few days' stay to experience the beauty of mountain living. Walking through the peaceful village, you’ll be warmly greeted by the simple smiles of the villagers. The beautiful rice paddies reflect the sunlight, and Rukai totems such as the hundred-pace viper and lily—symbols of reverence and harmony with nature—are visible throughout the community. "Delu Rigga" is the Rukai pronunciation for "Maolin." The bridge is 880 meters long and 10 meters wide, with its highest point reaching 52 meters above the ground—it is the third tallest prestressed box-girder bridge in Taiwan. The Delu Rigga Bridge was specially designed to avoid placing its piers in areas affected by meandering river erosion, with foundations as deep as 38 meters to withstand the rapid currents of the Zhuokou River. The elevated structure of the bridge towers over the winding river, set against the backdrop of layered emerald-green mountains. It harmonizes with Maolin’s unique terrain and has become a new landmark in the area.

Located near the entrance of the Maolin National Scenic Area, Lover’s Valley was once a favorite destination for travelers but is currently under reconstruction following damage from a natural disaster. Situated on a tributary of the Zhuokou River in the southern part of Maolin District, Lover’s Valley is called “Tubalu” in the Rukai language and is renowned for its natural landscapes including canyons, hot springs, and streams. The most breathtaking sight is the five-tiered waterfall system of Lover’s Valley, which cascades down from above.
