An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 occurred at 12:01 on March 19. The epicenter was 18.3 kilometers east of Yilan County, at a depth of 83.1 kilometers, and was felt across northern Taiwan.

Yilan and Xinzhuang in Taoyuan experienced intensity level 3 shaking, while Taipei’s Xinyi District, Hsinchu, New Taipei, and Miaoli had level 2 shaking. Keelung, Taoyuan, and Taipei City felt level 1 shaking.
Earthquake activity has been relatively frequent in the past week. Although the weather bureau has classified it as normal energy release, everyday earthquake preparedness remains essential.
