Summer vacation is approaching, and the third season of the Alishan Forest Railway cruise train will take everyone to explore the Duli Mountain Ancient Trail.On sale starting June 3The “Close to Mountains, Close to Water, Light Travel” cruise train itinerary for July to September not only allows you to enjoy the landscape ecology along the route but also provides guided tours by professional volunteers to introduce the Alishan Forest Railway, a potential site for UNESCO World Cultural Heritage inscription.

The Alishan Forest Railway, which combines elements of mountain railway, forest railway, and alpine railway, offers many extraordinary views. Travelers can watch trains use the ‘spiral climbing’ technique to ascend Duli Mountain at Zhangnaoliao Station — a must-visit pilgrimage site for rail fans.

This summer Alishan Forest Railway FUN “Close to Mountains, Close to Water, Light Travel” cruise train itinerary not only lets you experience the rich ecology of Duli Mountain and the changing scenery of the hiking trails, but also includes visits to the Chiayi Depot Park of the Alishan Forest Railway and the Hinoki Forest Life Village for a cultural and educational journey.

Each session is limited to 100 participants. The package price is NT$500 per person (includes NT$262 for the forest railway fare, NT$200 for a self-service lunch at Zhushan Train Inn Resort, and NT$40 for guided interpretation).Children under 6 years old who do not occupy a seat may ride for free, but meals at Zhushan Train Inn Resort must be paid for separately on-site. Cruise train bookings are divided into group and individual passengers. Group passengers may book 29 days (inclusive) before the travel date, while individual passengers may book 15 days (inclusive) before the travel date. Booking rules and precautions are as follows:

1. Third Season Forest Railway Cruise Train Operating Dates:

July: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
August: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
September: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

2. Group Passenger Booking Rules:

Booking Open: 29 days (inclusive) before the travel date. For example: June 3 opens for booking group seats for July 1.

3. Individual Passenger Booking Rules:

Booking Open: 15 days (inclusive) before the travel date. For example: June 17 opens for booking individual seats for July 1.
