Located about 4.5 hours’ drive east of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Mui Ne is a seaside town that was once a small fishing village known for selling large quantities of fresh seafood. Today, it has become a top holiday destination for foreign travelers visiting Vietnam.

Aside from the famous Mui Ne Fishing Port known for its basket boats, there are also two breathtaking deserts in Mui Ne—White Sand Dunes and Red Sand Dunes—which are must-see attractions.

As the sand dunes are located in relatively remote areas, travelers usually rent local drivers and vehicles to get there.
It takes about 30 to 40 minutes by car from central Mui Ne to the White Sand Dunes. Due to its remote location, travelers often book a local tour the day before and reserve the pickup location and time for the next morning.

Moreover, you have to wake up very early and arrive before sunrise to find the best spot to view it—ideally one where you can avoid other tourists—so you can capture great shots.
