Keelung, the northernmost city in Taiwan, is most famously represented by its Zhongzheng District along the coast. The coastline features many unique marine erosion landforms, and its sunrise view has been selected by foreign media as one of the “21 Most Beautiful Sunrises in the World.” This weekend, take your family for a stroll around Zhongzheng District.

Originally a historic old fishing port, Zhengbin Fishing Port has now become a holiday leisure and nostalgic sightseeing pier. The colorful houses along the harbor add vibrant hues to the simple fishing port, earning it the nickname “Taiwan’s Venice.”

Located within Heping Island Park, Araboro Bay is a beautifully scenic hidden gem where you can admire a variety of peculiar rocks and stones, among which Leopard Rock, resembling a leopard, is considered a classic.

Chaojing Park is an emerging attraction in Keelung. Adjacent to the sea, apart from enjoying the beautiful seascape, you can also gaze at Jilong Mountain and Jiufen in the distance. The park is bustling with visitors on holidays. In recent years, the park has installed numerous large-scale artworks designed by international artists, adding a touch of fantasy to Chaojing Park and making it a must-visit Instagram spot for travelers coming to Keelung.

Formed through the long-term effects of the northeast monsoon and ocean waves, this unique geological landscape resembles tofu in shape—hence the name Tofu Rock. It has also been selected by foreign media as one of the 21 most beautiful spots in the world to watch the sunrise.
