Spring Travel Subsidy to Explore Tainan: Enjoy Hot Springs and More with Extra Hotel Discounts on Weekdays

The spring travel subsidy program by Tainan City and the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications not only offers group travel subsidies but also provides a subsidy of NT$500 per room for individual travelers starting May 1. Additional benefits include free entry to five historical and cultural sites, gifts, and a chance to win flight tickets. Aside from the nearly 300 participating accommodations in the spring travel program, many hotels not officially part of the subsidy initiative have independently launched their own NT$500 room discount promotions, offering even more choices.

Soak in hot springs, go for nature walks, and enjoy local mountain delicacies in the Guanziling Hot Springs area. With May and June being the off-season for hot springs, the Guanziling Hot Springs Association has unified efforts with nine hot spring accommodation providers to launch an additional NT$500 discount promotion to boost off-season stays. As long as you apply for the spring travel program and stay at these nine hot spring accommodations on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) during the May–June event period, you’ll receive an official NT$500 discount per room, plus an extra NT$500 off, totaling up to NT$1,000 in discounts per room.
 
These include Hongling Villa, Fuyu Mansion, Litan Hot Springs Resort, Qingshou Inn, Qingya Hot Springs Lodge, Qianhe Mud Hot Springs Villa, Xixin Mansion, Changhong Villa (Tangquan Meidi), and Fanggu Inn (Fanggu Cottage).

May and June mark Tainan’s cultural arts month, featuring various art and tourism events. In May, there’s the Meilin Firefly Season, Hutoupi Acalypha Flower Festival, Tainan May Music Festival, Tainan International Dragon Boat Championships, and the grand opening of the Zuozen Fossil Park. June continues with exciting events such as the Tainan International Mango Festival.

Additionally, those who spend NT$500 or more on weekday hotel stays in Tainan can submit receipts for a chance to win one of 20 pairs of round-trip flight tickets between Tainan and Osaka or Tainan and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Taiwan High Speed Rail has also launched a “Ride the HSR, Explore Tainan” program, including the “HSR + Tainan Water & Land Combo Ticket,” “HSR + Tainan Fun Card Combo Ticket,” and limited-time offers in collaboration with 10 Tainan hotels, such as “Spring Travel on the HSR, Get Free Accommodation.”
 
Among them, Dayi Lize Hotel has independently launched a spring travel promotion without registration, offering a NT$500 discount on room bookings for both weekdays and holidays.

Beyond the additional discounts offered by businesses in the Guanziling Hot Springs area, nearly 300 Tainan accommodations participating in the Tourism Bureau’s individual travel spring subsidy program have seen 67 operators introduce their own special offers. These include Jiangnan Resort giving an extra NT$500 worth of Taiwan Sugar gift packs for spring stays, and Qigu Laren Eco Homestay offering an additional NT$500 discount per room.
