A Pure White April Snowstorm: Tung Blossoms Create MV-Like Scenes

Every year from April to May, romantic white snow begins to fall across Taiwan as Chinese fringe trees and tung trees dance in the breeze. Families can enjoy a delightful picnic while admiring the blossoms and spending quality time together.

Located in Longtan, Taoyuan, Ganjiabao—also known as Gan’s Cultural Art & Leisure Park—is privately owned by the Gan family, adjacent to the Longtan Science Park, and covers an area of about 10 hectares.

Nestled against mountains and facing water, the park features vast lawns and ponds, offering beautiful scenery and rich ecology. In recent years, tung blossom trees have been planted here, and during the blooming season each year, the park opens its doors free of charge for visitors to admire the April snow.

This year’s Taoyuan Hakka Tung Blossom Festival, themed “Flowers Reveal Hidden Realms,” featured a tung blossom picnic party, a tung blossom folk song competition, and a Hakka musical drama at Ganjiabao, inviting everyone to come and appreciate the beauty of the tung blossoms.

Over 3,000 tung trees are planted within the Gan family’s park. During the tung blossom season, visitors can stroll along the mountain-looping trails shaded by these blossoming trees.
