A Colorful Light Trip to Jiaoxi: Cycling Through the Hometown of Hot Springs

Jiaoxi Township is renowned across Taiwan for its onsen in the plains, and boasts beautiful mountain and water scenery, idyllic countryside views, and picturesque landscapes. To promote Jiaoxi’s outstanding natural and cultural attractions and encourage low-carbon tourism, three spring light travel routes have been launched. These allow you to enjoy immersive travel and hot spring hiking while also appreciating the area’s stunning natural beauty and cultural charm.

Route 1: A Leisurely Ride Along Dezi Kou Stream

Along the way, you’ll pass numerous award-winning attractions such as the Kinma Jiaoxi Orchid Garden, the Kinma Bio-Tech Aquaculture Center featuring an aquarium with marine life, the charming Sky Island cabin — a popular IG photo spot, the Erlong Cultural Museum with over 200 years of cultural heritage, Xie Tian Temple, the spiritual center of Jiaoxi residents, and Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park where you can enjoy free foot soaking. Route 2: Rice Fields Fun in Yutian Countryside

Starting from Jiaoxi Railway Station, this route takes you through the Erlong Cultural Museum with over 200 years of cultural history, the Yutian Lion Dance Cultural Artifacts Museum — a key cultural asset of Jiaoxi, the Fangetian Youama Art Station created by local youth, the historic Wunan Stone Slab Bridge built during the Qing Dynasty, the Guobao Museum — the only museum in Yilan with over 10,000 cultural relics, and Xie Tian Temple, the spiritual hub of Jiaoxi. Along this culturally rich journey, you can also admire the scenic rice fields of Yutian.

Route 3: Ecological & Cultural Journey to Longtan

Departing from Jiaoxi Railway Station, you’ll visit Xie Tian Temple, the spiritual center of Jiaoxi residents, the former residence of Wu Sha — the first pioneer to develop Yilan, the Balsamic Vinegar Tourist Factory Tanjiao Tiandi, the family-friendly Longtan Lake Park, the Chaiwei Dian Weir Park which plays a crucial role in farmland irrigation, the Jiaoxi specialty Golden Kumquat Cultural Museum, and Tangwei Gou Park offering free open-air foot soaking.
