In Dàyì Park within the Pier-2 Art Center, there’s a chair music score made from 1,137 old wooden chairs once used by elementary and middle school students in Kaohsiung, stacked together to form a fortress-like public artwork that at first glance resembles a 3D scene from the movie "Inception." Though completely silent, the chair music score seems to resonate with audible memories, not only stirring up nostalgic childhood recollections but also attracting an endless stream of visitors eager to take photos — because it’s just so photogenic!

At the end of the warehouse buildings in Dàyì, you enter a green forest where, like a hidden gem, stands a wooden universe with its doors wide open. The chair seats and walls overlap in a blend of reality and illusion, forming a spatial music score that welcomes the beautiful light and shadows cast by shifting sunlight, drifting through this circular universe — a perfect moment for floating-style photography.

The chair music score is the work of artist Yen Ming-Hong, built with metal and old wooden chairs, reaching nearly three stories in height. Looking up at the sky invites deeper reflection. This is a “field art” piece that emphasizes being grounded on the earth and connecting all forms of life in mutual communication. It allows viewers, through perspective, to see the work itself as symbolizing “the past of memory” and the old tree nearby representing “the existence of nature.”

Under the open sky and by the water — set off on a green journey through the land of giant trees.
