High temperatures soaring above 36°C & heavy rain alert for K counties/cities

With convective cloud systems developing vigorously, short-term heavy rainfall is likely. On the 15th, there is a probability of localized heavy rain in areas south of Chiayi, Taitung, as well as mountainous regions of Nantou and Yunlin. Watch out for lightning strikes and strong gusts.

In addition, a high temperature alert is in place for three southern counties/cities. Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and Tainan City are under a yellow alert, with temperatures soaring above 36°C. Ensure indoor ventilation and keep cool, and take appropriate measures to cool down either yourself or your environment, such as using fans or ice packs.

On the 20th and 21st, as a frontal system passes and northeasterly winds strengthen, the weather will turn cooler in the north and eastern half of the country; the western half and northeastern regions may experience brief showers or thunderstorms, and other areas may also have localized brief showers or thunderstorms, with a probability of heavier rainfall in some spots.
