Heavy rain on Friday gave way to sunshine again！ Weekend weather is unstable with chances of thunderstorms

From the 18th to 19th, the weekend continues to be affected by the southwest monsoon. On the 18th and 19th, there will be localized brief showers or thunderstorms in western and northeastern Taiwan, while other areas will be mostly cloudy. In the afternoon, there is a probability of localized brief thundershowers across the island, with a chance of heavy rain.

 

From the 20th to 21st, as a frontal system passes and the northeast monsoon strengthens, the weather in northern and northeastern Taiwan will turn cooler. Temperatures in Miaoli and areas northward will dip to 19°C on Tuesday, with highs around 23–25°C, central Taiwan at 20–25°C, and southern Taiwan at 23–27°C. Western and northeastern Taiwan will experience brief showers or thundershowers, with a probability of localized heavy or torrential rain. Other areas may also see localized brief showers or thundershowers.

Starting from Wednesday the 22nd, the northeast monsoon will weaken. Until the 24th, most areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with localized brief showers in the eastern regions and possible localized brief showers in the mountainous areas of western Taiwan in the afternoon.
