The Frozen Kingdom is back in action – don’t miss these four new themed areas at DisneySea!

Oriental Land, which manages Tokyo Disneyland, DisneySea, and the resort, announced on May 21 that construction has begun on an eighth new themed area, named “Fantasy Springs,” which will include four major new attractions themed around Frozen and more. With an investment of 250 billion yen—approximately NT$71.3 billion—the expansion of DisneySea is set to open in 2022.

The brand-new DisneySea area “Fantasy Springs” is themed around “a magical spring that guides you to the world of Disney fantasy,” filling the entire zone with a fantastical fountain of wonder. It will feature four new attractions based on Disney animated films including “Frozen,” “Enchanted,” and “Peter Pan”—truly something to look forward to.

In addition to the new attractions, the area will also include hotels, souvenir shops, and surrounding restaurants. It marks the largest-scale expansion project at DisneySea since its opening in 2001, with the area set to increase by 20%.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Disneyland is also creating two new themed areas: an attraction themed around “Beauty and the Beast” that will recreate the show’s street scenes and include a ride-type attraction, and a “Big Hero 6” themed area, which will set a record for the highest ride-type attraction in Disney history. Both are planned for completion by spring 2020.
