Taiwan’s first Apple flagship

Another shopping mall that has drawn attention near Taiwan’s first Apple flagship store is A13 Far Eastern Xinyi. The luxury-focused Far Eastern Department Store Xinyi branch differs from the mall-style formats of Far Eastern’s other department stores, such as Far Eastern and Mega City. Its transparent walls and light-transmitting glass design, along with the nearby Apple flagship store, are expected to become popular photo spots.

A13 Far Eastern Xinyi is scheduled to open in autumn 2019. Due to ongoing construction and layout work, there’s a possibility of a delay similar to that of Breeze Xinan, though nothing is certain. Job openings related to the Far Eastern Xinyi store are already appearing on recruitment websites. Additionally, the exterior of Far Eastern Xinyi features the logo of Vieshow Cinemas, sparking speculation that Vieshow Xinyi might relocate or transform into a cinema with a different positioning—something both consumers and movie fans will be watching closely.

There are only 25 Apple flagship stores worldwide, and they can be found in the most prime locations of global progressive cities. This time, its arrival in Taipei’s Xinyi District sees it built as a standalone flagship at the intersection of Songren Road and Songsou Road. Amidst the sea of department stores and high-rises in the Xinyi business district, it stands out remarkably and uniquely.

Recruitment for the Apple flagship store has already begun, while the existing direct retail APPLE STORE at Taipei 101 will continue to operate as usual.
