1.Bitou Cape Trail
Northern Taiwan’s coastline is flanked by mountains and sea, featuring many trails offering sweeping views. The Bitou Cape Trail provides panoramic vistas of the coastal range and seascape, making it a great choice for outdoor leisure. The trail winds along the ridge, spans approximately 3.5 kilometers, and takes about 2 to 3 hours to walk in full. It offers breathtaking views of the Northeast Coast, and the gentle path allows you to feel the soft ocean breeze. The scenery before your eyes resembles a postcard—absolutely stunning.

2.Yin-Yang Sea
Located north of Shuishe Cave Settlement in Ruifang District, New Taipei, the Yin-Yang Sea is a unique geographical feature of the Northeast Coast area. Its waters appear yellowish-brown, creating a striking contrast with the deep blue of the open sea. Due to the region’s special geology, the rocks in Jinguashi contain large amounts of pyrite. Rainwater seeps into the ore, coating it with iron hydroxide and turning it yellowish-brown. This mineral-rich water then flows into the sea, where the high concentration of iron hydroxide floats on the surface. Because the bay’s waters do not disperse easily, the Yin-Yang Sea phenomenon is formed.

3.Fangliao Fishing Port
Located just outside Fangliao Railway Station, Fangliao Fishing Port is known as the “Hometown of Fish.” It features a directly operated fish supermarket run by the port authority. At sunset, you can watch the sparkling sea waters—a scene full of charm.

4.Liuqiu (Little Ryukyu)
Liuqiu is an offshore island of Pingtung, the only coral island among Taiwan’s outlying islands. It boasts rich and diverse natural resources, and is home to Taiwan’s best sunset viewing spot, the “Sunset Pavilion.” It’s a top summer travel destination for many visitors.
