Beinan Township is situated in the southern part of the Huatung Valley, cradled between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range, which grants it exceptionally beautiful natural scenery. With rivers such as the Beinan River, Zhiben River, and Lijia River flowing through, along with a profound indigenous cultural foundation, take some time to visit Beinan with your family!

The predecessor of the Fushan Marine Restoration Area was the Suginohara Beach, also known as the Suginohara Intertidal Zone. Its crystal-clear azure sea, soft and fine white sand, and breathtaking underwater landscapes make it the most beautiful coastline in Taitung.

Also known as the "Moon World of Liji," the Liji Badlands are located in Liji Village. The soil here becomes as hard as stone when dry but turns muddy after rain. Due to long-term erosion by rainwater, it has formed a unique landscape dotted with numerous gullies. At sunset, standing on the Beinan Bridge or Liji Bridge, you can see this 2-kilometer-wide, 1-kilometer-deep geological wonder — rugged peaks and barren land that create an eerie yet desolate scene.

Located downstream of the Beinan River near the Liji Bridge, Little Huangshan faces the Liji Badlands across the Beinan River. It consists of the Beinan gravel layer at the edge of the Central Mountain Range, which is part of the Eurasian Plate. After years of erosion by rainwater, it presents a landscape of striking rock formations. With its bare yellow earth and rugged peaks, it resembles a smaller version of China’s Huangshan Mountain. Though it may not have the grandeur of the original Huangshan, it still holds its own unique charm — tranquil and elegant.

The Zhiben Forest Recreation Area is like an ecological classroom. Walking along its shaded trails, you can learn about various plants and animals through the informative signs along the way. It is especially rich in bird species, making it one of the best bird-watching spots in the suburbs of Taitung City. The camping area is perfect for setting up tents and enjoying a relaxing picnic with friends — a great way to connect with nature. Here, breathe in the fresh air full of phytoncides, listen to birds chirping and insects buzzing, and enjoy the ultimate pleasure.
