Limited-time hot air balloon party event！The adorable flying orbs are beyond cute

The Taoyuan Hot Air Balloon Festival, which grandly kicked off on June 15 at the Nanyuan Ecological Park of Shimen Reservoir, attracted a large crowd for its first-ever nighttime light show. With laser projections and an incredibly powerful DJ performance, it felt like a large-scale hot air balloon party event！

This year’s Taoyuan Hot Air Balloon Festival invited the universally adored Minions to make an appearance. Standing at a towering 23.3 feet and spanning 11.5 meters—enlarged nearly 50 times—the super cute Minions were an instant hit upon arrival.

This year also featured a Japan-themed octopus hot air balloon taking flight, with a mini version making an appearance during the light show evening. The large and small octopus-shaped balloons together were incredibly adorable, making the dual-theme Minions and octopus balloons the highlight of this year’s event.

The Shimen Reservoir site felt like a giant amusement park, with the entire Nanyuan Ecological Park not only featuring themed hot air balloons but also setting up several Q-version inflatable mascots. The nearly 6-meter-tall large mascots were truly impressive.

The large lawn area also set up five fun-filled game challenge stages, featuring childhood-inspired, playful designs suitable for all ages. Whether on weekdays or holidays, visitors can pick up a challenge card for free at the event service desk. Those who complete all the challenges can also redeem exclusive souvenirs.
