A shallow earthquake with a magnitude of about 6.0 struck Yibin, Sichuan, China around 11:00 PM on June 17. With a depth of only about 16 kilometers, the quake has resulted in 12 deaths and over 100 injuries. Travelers in Sichuan are advised to stay vigilant regarding their safety.

Then, at 11:36 PM, an aftershock with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred, followed by multiple other noticeable aftershocks. Furthermore, at approximately 12:29 AM on June 18, a magnitude 4.1 shallow aftershock with a depth of just 10 kilometers struck, shaking the area for nearly 30 seconds.

According to statistics, from 8:00 PM on June 17 onwards, there were a total of 65 aftershocks with a magnitude of 2.0 or higher, including 2 exceeding magnitude 5.0 and 3 exceeding magnitude 4.0. The region continues to experience tremors.
