Typhoon Bailu may form as early as today—prepare for four days of severe weather and heavy rain

A tropical depression has formed over the eastern waters of Taiwan. The Central Weather Bureau expects the sixth typhoon of the season, "Bailu," to form within 24 hours. Its projected path suggests it will affect the Kanto region of Japan this weekend, with minimal impact on Taiwan. Travelers planning to visit Japan should stay alert.

Although Typhoon Bailu will not directly impact Taiwan, from Friday (26th) to Monday (29th), increased moisture will bring mostly sunny to cloudy conditions with strong afternoon convection. The affected areas will be widespread, with a chance of "severe weather."

Under the continued influence of the Pacific High, most areas will see mostly cloudy to sunny skies in the morning, with scattered brief showers along the central and southern coasts. Afternoon localized thunderstorms are possible across the island. Temperatures will generally exceed 33°C, with highs around 35°C in the Greater Taipei area.
