The highly acclaimed New Taipei Children's Art Festival kicks off on August 2 this year. This year, there are even more themed facilities for kids to enjoy, along with 15 cultural and art events and venues across New Taipei City, plus international performances, offering free fun and excitement for both kids and adults.

Themed around "Future Monsters Island," this Children's Art Festival transforms both Civic Square and the City Hall Lobby into a space station, while adding numerous sci-fi elements that make you feel like you're at NASA.

The City Hall Lobby has created six new themed games based on major museums, including a magical archaeology sandbox themed around the 18th Century Museum, as well as the “Bubble World” interactive ball pit game designed by a Japanese art team. All you need to do is throw balls at the projected monsters to trigger different reactions.

This art festival invites international performance acts, including Japan’s “GEAR Gear Show,” known as the country’s Cirque du Soleil, Hong Kong’s “Tapping” wind-driven installation, and Spain’s award-winning street performance group “Big Dancers.” There will be not only 4-meter-tall giant puppets delivering colorful and entertaining dances, but also essential performances by Taiwanese groups.
