The “Chen Guang Bridge” in the Happy Water Park of Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park held its first “Chen Guang Magpie Bridge · Shining Qixi” event on August 3 this year, after its completion in late December last year. In addition to challenge-based giveaways, music events, food truck cuisine, the event also offered 500 free roses, immersing couples in a blissful atmosphere.

Rent a bicycle from the Chen Guang rental station between 5 and 6 p.m. on the day of the event to receive a limited edition coffee voucher (100 available). At 7 p.m., there will be a concert where you can sip aromatic coffee to the sound of romantic melodies.

The event site offers 500 roses as giveaways. Starting at 6 p.m., the “Romantic Interactive Three Challenges” will kick off on the Chen Guang Bridge. The first 100 couples who complete the challenges will receive limited-edition lover’s gifts, plus an extra coffee voucher and two roses.

Beneath the bridge, there are captivating light sculpture landscapes featuring mermaids and bubble-blowing girls. The first 150 visitors who take photos with them on Qixi Day will receive a blessing rose. Take advantage of the sunset glow to visit the food trucks at the Chen Guang Bridge Plaza, then enjoy the 7 p.m. concert where roses are occasionally presented as blessings to all the couples joining in the celebration.

The Chen Guang Bridge is a pedestrian and bicycle-only scenic bridge built by New Taipei City between Xinzhuang District and Sanchong District. Designed with double-curved abutments inspired by the Cowherd and Weaver Girl legend, it combines greenery, water play, food, and five nighttime light sculpture spots. When night falls, the entire bridge lights up, offering views of the celestial beauty that flows day and night — making for a fun and romantic Qixi celebration from daytime to evening.
