Gundam Summer Festival X Detective Conan Tokyo Taiiku Highlights

Gundam fans, Conan fans, and anyone who loves new experiences and photography shouldn’t miss these three major exhibitions when traveling to Tokyo this summer: the “Gundam Summer Festival 2019” at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, the “Detective Conan PLAZA,” and the newly opened dreamy IG photo spot, the “Unko Museum TOKYO.”

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Gundam, Gundam Base at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza is hosting the grand Gundam Summer Festival from now until September 1. The mall features Gundam installations throughout, exclusive merchandise, a Gundam food festival, an immersive experience with the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue, puzzle games, and more — a summer event Gundam fans can’t miss.

The “Gundam Food Festival” runs from August 3 to 11, located next to the life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue in the Festival Square on the 2nd floor of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. While enjoying Gundam-themed cuisine, the Gundam Café offers special commemorative bottle pearl drinks and shaved ice — you can even take the limited-edition bottle home after your meal.

Puzzle games are also available, where participants travel through time to find the secret treasure of Gundam’s 40th anniversary. Follow clues from Haro to locate the treasure, and upon completing the challenge, you’ll receive an original mini Gunpla model. Additionally, Gundam Base (THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO) in the mall offers a variety of exclusive and latest Gundam merchandise that fans won’t want to miss.

Unko MuseumTOKYO
The “Unko Museum” first debuted in Yokohama in March this year and quickly became one of Japan’s hottest IG photo spots. Its creatively designed, fun-to-photograph poop-themed exhibits have become hugely popular, with each area featuring adorable pinkish poop displays — every corner is a perfect scene for Instagram photos.
