Originally an important commercial route connecting previous generations to Miaoli, it has now become a beautiful forest path for reminiscing about the past.

Spanning 200 hectares, Mingde Reservoir features crystal-clear waters and three scenic islands — Xinri, Yuanyang, and Haitang — which are captivating. With its abundant ecological resources and picturesque mountain-water scenery, it’s an ideal spot for families to take a lakeside stroll.

The Fish Viewing Trail runs alongside the Xindian River. Visitors can start from Xindian Third Bridge, pass by Siyuan Bridge, admire the beautiful scenery upstream and downstream of the bridge, then continue past Shitan Junior High School, and walk to the famous Mingfeng Suspension Bridge, all while enjoying the sight of large fish swimming leisurely in the river.

Their grass jelly is made from dried grass that’s over two years old, resulting in a chewy texture.
