This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival offers a three-day long weekend. To meet travelers' needs, Taiwan High Speed Rail has planned transport services from September 12 (Thursday) to 16 (Monday), adding 143 additional train services (65 southbound and 78 northbound), providing a total of 863 services over the five days. The “University Student Discount” and “Early Bird Discount” for a total of 255 services will continue, accounting for nearly 30% of the total services during the holiday transport period.

Starting at midnight on August 16 (Friday), you can pre-book both outbound and return tickets for the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday through convenience stores partnered with the high-speed rail, online booking systems, the T Express mobile app, voice reservation systems, or by visiting ticket counters and ticket vending machines at stations during operating hours—making this Mid-Autumn holiday even more convenient.
On September 15 (Sunday), the Mid-Autumn Festival return day, the number of reserved-seating carriages during the morning northbound hours will be increased. Some trains will be adjusted to include 10 reserved-seating carriages (with cars 11 and 12 as non-reserved). This is to meet passenger demand for seat reservations. Other time slots will still provide 3 to 5 non-reserved carriages based on passenger transport needs. Passengers planning to take the high-speed rail should pay extra attention.

Crowds are always heavy during the Mid-Autumn transport period
Additionally, passengers who book their tickets 5 to 28 days before the travel date may be eligible for Early Bird discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90%. During this period, the “Standard Carriage Reserved Seat Cardholder Discount” and “Business Carriage Limited Upgrade” offers also apply. Period tickets and round-trip tickets remain valid for use without any extension of validity. However, the “Group Discount for 25 or More People” and “School Excursion Discount” are not applicable during this period.
