Sanchong Township is located in central Yilan and is famed across Taiwan for its scallions and pork cutlet (卜肉). Nestled at the foot of Mount Taiping, it has abundant water resources and a great natural environment. Take your family for a visit to Sanchong this weekend!

Situated in the middle reaches of the Annong River within Sanchong Township, near the right bank of Tianxin Bridge, two rows of bald cypress trees were planted during the early restoration of the Annong River. Over time, these trees have grown into a lush forest, standing straight on the verdant grassy field, leaving visitors absolutely amazed.

Tiansongpi Train Station is one of the best-preserved railway stations in Taiwan. The Sanchong Township Office has built the Tiansongpi Railway Park and a nostalgic walking trail centered around the railway, and even launched a replica version of a forest railway train, extending the tracks 1.8 kilometers to Pobuwuti. Travelers can deeply experience the charm of the railway here.

The Annong River, which flows through Sanchong, is a popular destination for rafting experiences. Stretching about 20 kilometers, you can raft from Xiashan Bridge in Tianshan Village to Zhanggongwei Waterfront Park, taking approximately 2 hours. The river varies in width, with rapid and thrilling currents, while the picturesque scenery of green fields along the way adds to the enjoyment—even on rainy days!

Covering an area of 2.2 hectares, the Flood Diversion Weir Scenic Area is a unique hydraulic facility in Sanchong Township. It splits the waters of the Annong River in two to meet local irrigation needs. Over time, a triangular sandbar has formed here. With abundant springs and a pristine natural environment, many small animals inhabit the area, making the scenic landscape perfect for a picnic ride on an ATV.
