Six platforms bring you up close to sea of clouds; the elevated Sea of Clouds Bar is spectacular

Autumn and winter are the best seasons to admire the magnificent sea of clouds in Taiwan, while the Japanese love to enjoy summer sea of clouds in Hokkaido. Among the most famous sea of clouds spots is the limited-time Sea of Clouds Platform at the Hoshino Resorts “Risonare TOMAMU,” available from May to October. The resort has planned nine different sea of clouds platforms, which are accessible to both guests and non-guests.

Since its opening in 2006, the Sea of Clouds Platform has successively developed the “Cloud9” project, establishing a series of nine sea of clouds platforms within the resort. This year, the sixth viewing spot of the Sea of Clouds Platform, the “Cloud Bar,” newly opened on July 23. Like a bar counter in the clouds, it offers the stunning experience of floating amidst the clouds, with the surging sea of clouds right before your eyes.

The Sea of Clouds Bar is a new viewing spot located on the mountainside. It features a 13-meter-long bar counter with five chairs — three single seats and two two-seaters, accommodating up to seven people at once. Climbing the ladder connected to the chairs and sitting on them allows you to admire the dynamic scenery of the sea of clouds and mountains from a high vantage point, making it a unique seat for sea of clouds viewing.

To celebrate the opening of the Cloud Bar, the outlook café on the Sea of Clouds Platform, “Tenbou Café,” has launched a new drink, the “Sea of Clouds Cocktail” — a non-alcoholic mocktail. It blends the fresh, tangy aroma of muscat grapes with carbonation, designed in the color of a bright blue sky, with cloud-like meringue added to the rim of the glass. Hold the adorable Sea of Clouds Cocktail in hand while enjoying the view from the Cloud Bar.

Other viewing spots of the Sea of Clouds Platform, including the Cloud Bed, Terrace Viewing Seats, Cloud Pool, Sky Wedge, and Sea of Clouds Pathway, all offer different experiences of sea of clouds viewing. This year, the newly designed “Cloud Cable Car” with a blue sky and white clouds theme takes you from the base of Tomamu’s Yotei Mountain to the mountaintop Sea of Clouds Platform and Outlook Café in just 13 minutes. Enjoy a hot drink while overlooking the endless expanse of sea of clouds.
