The Gongyi Road commercial area in Taichung—one already a top battleground for coffee shops—has just welcomed a strong new brand: "KafeD Dresden Riverside Café." This high-end forest-themed café specializes in tree-ring cakes and German-style fancy coffee, and officially opened on August 1 (Thursday).

The overall concept is inspired by the green German city of “Dresden,” symbolizing the carefree lifestyle of people living by the river, and creating a German-style café.

KafeD Dresden Riverside Café is a spacious, verdant café with lush green plant arrangements. As you step into the lobby, you’re greeted by a comfortable atmosphere. The lofty, well-lit space showcases wooden design paired with a metallic-tone aesthetic—every corner is perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. It has already become an eye-catching hot spot flooding social media since its opening.

Beyond the landscaped plants, the main walls and stairwells are adorned with full-wall hand-painted images of Germany’s Black Forest, evoking the tranquility of a forest in Germany. Even indoors, you can feel the fresh vibe of the woods. The high-ceilinged space also features a circular square bar that highlights the barista’s focus while hand-pouring coffee.

KafeD rarely takes German fancy coffee as its main theme but adds creativity to traditional German coffee methods. Its signature “Alpine Sunset Mocha” combines traditional German coffee brewing with Italian mocha and malt powder to create a romantic feel of a sunset forest.
