The Thirty-Six Bends of Taiping are located in Taiping Village, Meishan, Chiayi. The route traverses diverse terrains including hills, low mountains, and high mountains, serving as another key path besides the Alishan Highway. Taiping Village is also a must-pass spot on the way to the two major scenic areas: Ruifeng and Rui-li.

The Thirty-Six Bends of Taiping, situated along the northwest corridor of Alishan National Scenic Area, offer the best panoramic views of the Chiayi Plain at night. Each section and bend presents a unique vantage point, and as time progresses from sunset to the glow of city lights, the scenery is simply enchanting.

Located at Wangfeng Platform in Meishan, Taiping Village enjoys a cool climate year-round and boasts abundant natural resources. Taihsing Village, nestled within mid-altitude mountain valleys and river gorges, has been shaped over the years by river erosion, resulting in diverse landforms such as high mountains, canyons, waterfalls, and cliffs. Its unique geology is truly awe-inspiring.
