At 8:00 AM on September 2, the center of Tropical Storm Lingling was located at 15.2°N, 125.9°E, moving northwestward at a speed of 25 km/h. The central pressure was 998 hPa, with maximum sustained winds near the center at 18 m/s and maximum gusts at 25 m/s. The radius of the 7-level gale was 80 km.

Lingling’s projected path is expected to affect the eastern land and sea areas of Taiwan. On Wednesday, September 4, the weather will turn unsettled with rain. Days 2 and 3 (September 2–3) will see high temperatures and heat island-wide, with localized brief thunderstorms in mountainous areas. From Thursday, September 4 to Saturday, September 8, the weather will become increasingly unstable, with brief showers or thunderstorms in Taitung and southern regions, as well as localized brief showers or thunderstorms in Hualien and Yilan. Other areas will be mostly cloudy, with localized brief thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The Central Weather Bureau has also issued a high-temperature advisory for three northern counties and cities. Continuing the fine weekend weather, conditions will be sunny and hot, with yellow alerts (above 36°C) for Taipei City, New Taipei City basin, and Taoyuan City during the daytime.
