As the Lunar New Year approaches, many places are adorned with festive Chinese New Year installations. Located in Nantou, Zhushan Township has also created Taiwan’s only bamboo-themed lantern festival, featuring not only a sea of lanterns but also artful bamboo lantern displays.

The 2020 Zhushan Lantern Festival, themed around bamboo, not only hangs lanterns along the old street but also features continuous light displays that attract travelers every night to take photos and admire, bringing liveliness and sparkle to the once quiet old street.

In addition to the sky-high sea of lanterns, the Zhushan Lantern Festival also features various bamboo art lanterns, among which the most special is the “Mickey Mouse bamboo art lantern” created for this year’s Year of the Rat, shining brightly on the old street and becoming a popular photo spot.

The diverse bamboo art lantern works of this year’s Zhushan Lantern Festival are spread throughout the Zhushan town, with a total of 14 themed lantern areas that will remain lit until February 9.
