The sunset in Dongshi, Chiayi is famously gorgeous. Fishing harbors, the setting sun, and the sea come together to form a moving landscape. Due to seasonal and weather changes, the scenery is different every day. Especially in the evening, strolling along the long breakwater with the breeze in your face offers an intimacy with the ocean that can make you forget the worries of the day.

The biggest highlight of Aoju Wetlands is its rich and diverse geographical environment, including paddy fields, upland fields, windbreak forests, mangroves, grass marshes, freshwater swamps, saltwater swamps, muddy tidal flats, and intertidal zones. The Aoju Wetlands Forest Park even won the top prize in the Analysis and Planning Professional Category at the 2011 ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), known as the “Oscars of the landscape world.”

The Puzi River originates from Qianzhen Pit at Shitianwang Mountain in the Alishan mountain range and flows into the Taiwan Strait south of Dongshi Harbor, spanning over 70 kilometers in total. The entire riverbanks are picturesque, with each section offering unique charm—especially the stretch from Dongshi Bridge to the Dongshi estuary, where about two kilometers of riverside mangroves are lined with flocks of egrets dancing gracefully, creating a scene both beautiful and spectacular.

Established in 1956 (the 45th year of the Republic of China), Yu Shunfeng Agricultural Processing Factory is the first peanut sightseeing factory in Taiwan. Its main business involves peanut processing—a traditional industry relying on manual labor—and is dedicated to promoting the local peanut industry and culture, helping more people discover the delightful flavors of Taiwan.
