As the name suggests, Yunxian Paradise is located above the clouds. The park features abundant natural ecology, with walking trails that allow you to get up close to beautiful mountain scenery. The Wulai Train was built during the Japanese colonial period to transport logging equipment and timber. In response to tourism demand, the Forestry Bureau expanded the 1.5 km single-track section into a double track in 1964, increasing capacity and eliminating the inconvenience of passengers having to disembark during passing. Thus, the “Wulai Sightseeing Train” was officially born. It is an important cultural asset of Wulai’s forestry heritage and a key tourist resource, as well as the only remaining train of its kind in Taiwan, bearing witness to Taiwan’s transportation history before the highway era.

Formed by the confluence of the Wulai River and the Nanshi River, Wulai Waterfall is the most famous attraction in Wulai, with a drop of 80 meters. The best time to view it is in the afternoon when sunlight hits the waterfall, creating a dazzling golden spectacle. The sound and power of the falls are also incredibly soothing, helping to relieve the daily stresses of life.

Wulai Old Street refers to the area around Wulai Street, Waterfall Road, and the Mountain Loop Road. The shop signs are uniformly styled, giving the area a neat appearance. Most shops highlight indigenous characteristics, so visitors can enjoy indigenous-style mountain delicacies such as charcoal-grilled wild boar, hot spring eggs, banana leaf rice, bamboo tube rice, Makha dishes, ferns, and spring onions—all rare indigenous flavors you won’t find elsewhere.
